A limited release non-age statement release from the Macallan Distillery. This edition from Macallan is made up from whiskies drawn from 16 different Sherry cask styles, all chosen by Macallan's Master Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno. A high proportion of these casks are first fill, and has resulted in a rich, spicy Speyside single malt, bursting with honey'd raisin, root ginger and decadent chocolate notes. Less than one percent of the casks at Macallan are selected for the Rare Cask name which if you've ever driven past the towering warehouses at the Macallan distillery you'll know that one percent is still a great deal  of whisky given the vastness of the facility,representing one of the largest distilleries in Scotland in output terms. Gorgeous rose color. Aroma of ripe fruits, plums, berries and honey. Notes of sherry dominate the palate, with undertones of creamy vanilla, honeydew, raspberries and milk chocolate. This whisky has a very long yet fantastically smooth finish. Maccallan Rare Cask has been crafted from only hand picked sherry seasoned oak casks , some of the most precious and scarce in Single Malt Whisky .
