Invergordon 40 year old XOP by Douglas Laing & Co

50% alc/vol 70cl

Douglas Laing's XOP (Xtra Old Particular) is the best of the best from the Douglas Laing family vaults. This range of rare aged Single Malt and Single Grain Scotch Whiskies is bottled exactly the way the distiller intended: without colouring or chill-filtration, and at cask strength.

This expression, an Invergordon 40 Years Old, is rich and creamy on the nose with hints of syrup and hazelnuts. The palate carries a slight spiciness, with honeycomb, ginger and dark fruits, and a long, liquorice finish.

The rich and creamy nose shows hints of golden syrup, hazelnuts and just-picked raspberries. A slight spiciness is unveiled on the palate, along with honeycomb with ginger and lashing of dark fruit coulis. The medium-long finish displays a slight hint of liquorice, butterscotch and condensed milk.

This single cask bottling was matured in a refill barrel, cask reference DL10577.
